Wamego’s 12-acre City Park features the Dutch Mill, a stone windmill, circa 1879, or you can stroll back in history as you walk through the Historic Museum and Prairie Town Village, a collection of authentic buildings from the 1800’s. Enjoy the playground equipment, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, drop a line in the two-acre fishing pond, or take a dip in the Olympic-size swimming pool, which has a diving pool, two kiddie pools and changing rooms.
Enjoy one of the best picnic spots in the State
Since the park is often listed among the best picnic spots in the state, you may want to pack a picnic basket, or grab some take-out from one of several restaurants in town and relax on one of the many tree-shaded picnic tables.
Contact Wamego City Hall at (785) 456-9119 to reserve the pavilion for a private party.
Take a ride on the children’s train
The ADA accessible Children's Train is up and running, so hop aboard for a tour of the park. An open-air pavilion and Train Depot with restrooms are also available.
